Matching Problem solving tables to Official Guide

by InesB632 Mon Oct 01, 2018 6:09 am

Hi everyone,

following Problem: yesterday I tried desperately to find the exercices in the OG 2018.
I can't figure out the questions on the pages given in the chart.
What am I doing wrong?
So here are a few Infos:
- I use following GMAT official guide as e-book https://www.hugendubel.de/de/ebook/gmat ... Q00Y10R42N
- I have the gmat official guides quantitative and verbal review also available (in case the solution is to use them)
- I use following problem set : [REMOVED BY STACEY]
- When i look up in the GMAT official guide for an exercise given in the problem set, I can't find it.
F.ex. in the given Problem set, there is on page 4, the "easier set" containing exercises on page 147 (question 12) and page 152( question 45).

On page 147, I can't find an exercise with number 12
On page 152 I can't find an exercise with number 45.

Do I use the wrong OG or am I interpreting the chart wrong?

Kind regards from Bavaria,
Ines

Hello! You have the right book and PDF. The issue is that e-books do not use consistent page numbering. Every e-book software platform does its own thing as far as page numbers are concerned—so your page numbers depend up on the specific device you're using to view your e-book. :? The page numbering in our file applies only to the physical book.

But there's a resolution. Except for Chapter 3, the question numbering in the book is sequential—that is, it starts from #1 at the beginning of chapter 5 and goes up to #807 at the end of chapter 9; every problem has a different number. So you can just go look / search for that specific question number.

As I mentioned, chapter 3, the Diagnostic chapter, is different. That one has 100 questions numbered from 1 to 100, and then you start over again with #1 in chapter 5. For the questions in chapter 3, we add the letter D to the beginning of the question number (eg, D13). In that case, you know that we're talking about question 13 in Diagnostic chapter 3.

Chapter 3 contains questions 1 through 100 (labeled with a D in our problem sets).
Chapter 5 contains questions 1 through 230.
Chapter 6 contains questions 231 through 404
Chapter 7 contains questions 405 through 543
Chapter 8 contains questions 544 through 667
Chapter 9 contains questions 668 through 807
