I have seen a Gmatprep question where a 'DEFINITIVE NO' was Sufficient.

do you happen to recall the specifics of the question?

we've already established that "definitive no" is fair game, but we would still be interested in seeing any and all examples of its use in official questions. notably, there isn't a single question in the 11th edition official guides for which "definitive no" = sufficient.

Hi!

I received 31-39 on my first bundle with 80% level of confidence.
I read in another post that someone received the same range with 92% level of confidence.
Could you please help me to clarify the meaning of level of confidence?

Does it mean I need to be less confident to score this range with respect to the other post.

Hmm, I'm not sure on the "level of confidence" thing. I'll have to poke around their web site and see if they explain what that means. The other thing you can do is email them directly and ask.

"real or applied" generally means the problem gave you real actual numbers with which to work. "pure or formula based" means they gave you a theoretical question - such as, if p and q are integers and p is even, which of the following must be true? And then you get answer choices that have various combinations of p and q. (Or they could give you a pure algebra problem, in which the answer choices are also in the forum of variables - so not just one set of actual numbers to use.)

I gave GMAT Focus, my stats are below:

47-51 (80% Confidence level)
Answered incorrectly to 5 questions.

Time - Was definitely pressed for time. Had to guess a couple of questions.

Real GMAT (taken 1.5 years earlier) - 50
Real GMAT (taken 1 years earlier) - 49

Each time on real GMAT I had 10 minutes to spare in quant section.

Interesting - thanks for the data. So you were in the same score range every time, but you had a different experience in terms of the timing.
