Manhattan versions.

by philee Thu Feb 16, 2012 11:34 pm

Hi
1) Are there vast differences from an older version (2007) of Manhattan books to newer (2011) prints?

2) What am I missing from getting older versions of books instead of getting a newer version?

3) I ask this because I was wondering if the GMAT exams are getting harder each year, hence the Manhattan prep books to keep up with the level of difficulty on GMAT exams as year goes by.

Thanks

The skill level required to earn a certain score does increase slowly over time, yes. In addition, certain topics are more or less commonly tested and that also changes over time. Finally, we continue to do more research and find better ways to explain or teach things.

There are some significant differences between the 2007 versions and the current versions. In particular, in the old versions, we had CR and RC in just one book. Now, those two subjects have their own separate books (with a lot more instruction and many more practice problems). In addition, we added Advanced chapters to the newest version to cover harder material.
