MANHATTAN GMAT SHOULD DO A BETTER JOB!

by Guest Thu Sep 11, 2008 11:40 am

I have been reading the topics in this forum and realized that there are a big number of posts, which have not been answered.

Please stay at the top of this.

Thanks,

An unhappy customer

hi -

we've always offered these forums as a public courtesy to all people preparing for the gmat, whether they're our customers or not. until recently, the volume of posts has been easily manageable on a same- or next-day basis, with the longest lag time at a few days.

however, as with other completely free services, the demand has begun to outstrip the supply. our forum committee is only a few members strong, and we have a limited budget of time to spend creating posts. as you can see, our posts are not quick, one-off deals; they require substantial thought and time.

we understand that our paying customers may feel a bit frustrated at the current backlog on the forums. we are currently considering implementing some changes - such as restricting the forums to registered users and/or giving priority to posts from paying customers - but for now we'll have to live with backlogs, because users have simply begun to post more questions than we can answer.

believe me, we are as frustrated by the backlogs as you are. but the forums' rapidly growing user base is a sign that we're doing a good job.

stay tuned.

Just wanted to add: if you are a student in one of our classes, you have other, better options to get your questions answered. Sign up for office hours each week. Also, ask your instructor questions before and after class.

Also, for everyone: before you post, do a search for your problem. Chances are, it has already been discussed and you may be able to read an explanation right away and not have to wait for an answer!

And just wanted to echo something Ron said: we run this as a public, free service. It's not unexpected, this time of year, to have so many posts that we can't keep up. We wish we could spend all day, every day doing nothing but answering everybody's questions, but we instructors have to do our regular jobs, too.

I think MGMAT forum answers by ron and stacey are with terrific explanation and of high quality, they certainly deserve kudos. Moreover, to reduce turn around, we need to be more vigilant in looking for questions that are posted previously.
