Manhattan gmat flash card question

by nazimd73 Thu Mar 19, 2009 12:19 pm

Hi,
Can someone help me on the Geometry flashcard set page18.

it is asking to solve for angle PRQ.

since the diameter of the triangle lies in the circle, it can be stated that the triangle is a right triangle.
Since Q is 90 degrees RQO is 40.
Since ROQ is Q+P=110
then PRQ is 180-150=30.

I am getting 30 as the answer

THe answer on the sheet says 35. Can someone explain

I totally agree with you. I think this question is wrong. If O is the center, then <OPQ should be equal to <OQP (cannot be 50 and 60 as stated) and <PQR should be 90.

Hi all-

Great catch! I've brought this to the attention of our curriculum development team and we'll be making the necessary edits to that question shortly. Good work and thanks for your help!
