Manhattan GMAT and Scoretop.com

by Malik Sun Jun 29, 2008 6:01 pm

Wasn't Scoretop.com an affiliate of Manhattan GMAT? I visited Scoretop.com multiple times (never bought anything... phew!), and can swear that I remember Manhattan GMAT advertising on there. In fact, that might be how I found this site to begin with.

Did the two companies have a business relationship?

Nope, never had any kind of relationship with them - definitely not any sort of affiliate! I don't know whether we had ads placed directly there (I tend to doubt it), but they may have used Google ads, and we'd obviously get matched with their site since we're a GMAT company. We actually banned them from our site last fall.

Possibly they had some kind of relationship with Manhattan Review - that's a different company.

Manhattan GMAT and Scoretop.com

On Google Trends for Websites, it shows that, for people who visited this site, the second-most visited site is/was Scoretop.com:

Seems like MGMAT and Scoretop had some sort of relationship, since many of the other sites listed there are places where I have seen MGMAT promoted.

If I hadn't done so much CR practice, I'd probably believe you. Put together a solid argument and then come back with your conclusion!

Guest - that's really funny.

No, we never had any kind of relationship with them, formal or informal. It isn't likely we would ban them from our forums last fall if we had a relationship with them, is it? I think our two sites are just very popular among people studying for the test.

Note the top one there is Beat The GMAT - we do have a long-term relationship with them. They also banned scoretop last fall based on our advice. :)
