LOST BIG TIME- 4th Attempt

by abhiabhee Thu Nov 18, 2010 8:13 am

Hi,

I am perhaps lost for words. I have tried my level best in cracking the GMAT: have taken test 4 times now, scored below -
Ist Test V 28, Q 50 - 650
IInd Test V28, Q 51 - 660
IIIrd Test V30, Q 49 - 660
IVth Test V30, Q 50 - 670

Have tried everything : all books recommended by MGMAT instructors, took MGMAT tests in full conditions.
In all the MGMAT tests, I scored 720+ consistently. GMAT Prep 1 - 720, gmat prep 2 - 740

I think it's the fate which is ruling in my case. I am applying to all the top schools. Please please tell me what can be done.

What dropped - quant, verbal or both? (From the numbers, I'm guessing verbal.)

Did you take your tests under 100% official testing conditions, including essays?

Did you have repeated questions on the 720+ practice tests? If so, how many and how did you handle them? How much time did you spend and did you get them all right?

Do you have a history of underperforming on other standardized tests or important exams? (Is there a history of nerves hurting your performance?)

How's your timing?

Read this article and do the analysis described, then come back here and post:

Also, it sounds like you took our course. Did you sign up for a Post Exam Assessment? If you did take the course or one of our Guided Self-Study packages, then you're eligible for a free Post-Exam Assessment. This is a phone call with an instructor to figure out what went wrong and come up with a plan to re-take the test. If this applies to you, please send an email to studentservices@manhattangmat.com and request the Post-Exam Assessment.
