Last minute advice

by abhishekmkumar Fri Oct 28, 2011 3:10 pm

I have been preparing for the last 2 months now and my scores are as follows:
Test 1, Manhattan 1 - 660 (not under test conditions)
Test 2, GMAT Prep 1 - 610 (under test conditions)
Test 3, GMAT Prep 2 - 640 (under test conditions)
Test 4, Manhattan 2 - 620 (not under test conditions)

Apart from these, I have taken few more tests on 800score.com and other online resources.

Observations:

- I am not able to score beyond 34 in verbal and 44 in quant
- Poor performance in DS, I am able to solve most of those questions correctly later

My test is on 9/Nov...

With the above trend, how much am I going to get in the original test?

Please advise how should I go about my preparation in the last 10 days to maximise the score. I can invest upto eight hours per day for the next 10 days for this...

You should generally expect to score in the same range as your practice test scores from about 10 days out. It's not typical to people post large score improvements in the last 7-10 days. So if your goal is higher than the low 600s, you should postpone your test.

Poor performance in DS, I am able to solve most of those questions correctly later

How's your timing on quant? I talk to people all the time who tell me they're not good at DS, and then we look at the data, and they're actually fine on DS when they spend the time - but they're spending extra time on PS, so they have to rush on DS, and then that kills their DS performance. Could that be happening to you?

Then come back here and share your analysis (NOT just the raw data!) and we'll help you try to figure out what to do.
