Just took gmat and scored 70 points less than my cat

by monad2000 Mon Aug 16, 2010 1:15 pm

I have been studying for 3 months and the past 3 cat's i made 620, 640 and then a week before my exam i scored 680. Two days ago I scored a 610 on the real gmat test. Signing up to take the gmat again. This is a hard question to answer but what range of scores should I expect to make, if I study for the last two weeks. I went into the test very confident thinking, i was going to score a 700.

I'm sorry you had a tough time with the test. Did you take our course or do the Guided Self Study program? If you did take the course or one of our Guided Self-Study packages, then you're eligible for a free Post-Exam Assessment. This is a phone call with an instructor to figure out what went wrong and come up with a plan to re-take the test. If this applies to you, please send an email to studentservices@manhattangmat.com and request the Post-Exam Assessment.

Your verbal score was about what you should have expected, but your quant score dropped. Did you take your practice tests under full official conditions, including length of breaks, no use of the pause button, no eating or drinking except on breaks, etc.? (I see that you did do the essays - that's good.)

Also, do the analysis described in this article to figure out what else might have gone wrong on the quant:

Then come back here and let us know what you found out.
