Is the MGMAT CAT scoring outdated?

by phil89a Mon Jul 16, 2012 10:06 pm

Hi guys,

Maybe MGMAT has their own ranking but, I've just taken the MGMAT CAT test and I recieved a 43 in quant and 25 in verbal.

The exam overview tells me that a 43Q puts me in the 70% and a 25V puts me in the 28% but when I looked at the MBA.com site, 43Q puts me in the 61% and a 25V put me in the 36%.

Does that mean my overall score of 570 from the MGMAT is actually much lower?

Thanks

The scores (570, 43, and 25) are accurate, but the percentiles do change over time, and ours are currently old, yes - we're about to update ours, but we're waiting for GMAC to make the final adjustments, which is supposed to happen sometime this month.

So the actual numbers do not change - you still got a 570, 43 and 25. But the percentiles associated with those numbers can (and do) change over time. It's also possible to take the real test today, and get certain percentiles on your score report, and then apply in 2 or 3 years and the score report then can contain different percentiles than your score report today - although the scores themselves will remain the same.
