the second statement says that k/7 is not an odd integer ,which means it can have values such as 2/7 or 1/7 or 3/7 or 4/7 .....etc .these values are definately not an odd integer .they are some fractions .depending on various values we get various values of "k" such as 2 or 1 or 3 or 4 etc .so we cant really conclude whether "k" is odd or even int .

1) 7k = odd

odd * odd = odd

Since there are only odd integers the product will always be odd

2) k/7 is not an odd integer

K can be 1/7, 15/7, 18/7, 22/7 any decimal need not be an integer

Therefore answer is A

yep.
"not an odd integer" doesn't mean "even integer". it means "even integer or non-integer".

also, just to clarify in v_prbk's example cases --
K can be 1/7, 15/7, 18/7, 22/7 any decimal need not be an integer

i just want to point out that the values of "k" in these examples are 1, 15, 18, and 22, not the entire fractions.
