Is RC an indicator that you went wrong somewhere?

by himanshu.joshi Sat Feb 06, 2010 1:37 pm

Hi,

My question may sound silly but it is a potential question which has been running in my mind since the morning.

I gave my first shot at the real GMAT today and scored a poor 660. The third question I encountered in the verbal section was an RC passage. I visited blogs and posts of people who have scored more than 750 in GMAT. All of them had one thing in common - The RC passage appeared at least after question no. 5.

So my question is, if we get to see an RC passage too early in the examination, does it mean that you have done some blunders with the previous questions?

I am planning to give GMAT again in March and this time I will be prepared.

Thanks,
Himanshu Joshi

No, the placement of the first RC passage doesn't indicate whether you're doing well or poorly. (And nice job on the test - I know you want a higher score, but 660 is a very good score already!)
