Is it possible to see the score so of Quant section only?

by kaveri_princess Tue Nov 09, 2010 12:05 am

I finished the free CAT section. And paused the exam. Is it possible to see the result/scores of just the quant section without actually finishing the test?

Also is the Quant section of MGMAT much more difficult than the actual GMAT? The questions in the CAT exam seemed to be pretty tough!

No, you got to finish the test. Yes, quantitative section on MGMAT is much tougher than the real GMAT, but the scaled score they give is close to the real one.

You do have to finish the test to get the score, yes. (You could just answer A to all of the verbal questions if you want! Your overall score will be very low, but your individual quant score will still be valid.)

Most people do feel our quant section is tougher than the real test for two primary reasons:

(1) We have a higher proportion of computation-intensive problems (though we're fixing this over time), and
(2) The real test has experimental questions, which don't count toward your score and can come randomly at any level, from the very easiest to the very hardest. The higher you score, the more likely your experimental questions will be below your scoring level, giving you little mini "mental breaks" on the real test. We're not that nice to you. :)
