Is it possible to find the antecedent after the pronount?

by carlosutrillas Sun Aug 18, 2013 11:57 am

Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible you find the antecedent after the pronoun...

For example...:

Though it is very famous, this movie is not appealing for me...

Here "this movie" is the antecedent of "it". Right? Is that correct?

hey,
now, see, this is the kind of situation in which you could benefit from being a little more self-sufficient.

I.e., if you have a question like this one -- try doing a little "homework" on your own. Specifically, have a look through the correct answers in the OG, and see whether this actually happens anywhere. If it does, then there's your answer. If not, that's when it's most appropriate to post a question here. (You'll retain your learning better if you find things out yourself, rather than asking others.)

For this particular question, you'll find your answer by looking at OG12 SC #7.
and #23.
and #28.
and #31.
and #69.
and #70.
and ... you get the idea.

Hi Ron,

I 100% agree with your suggestion. However, I have the OG13 and I am not sure which exercises corresponds to the ones you have mentioned in the OG12.

Anyway, I have been checking some exercises from OG13 (Following your suggestion) and I think I have found the answer:

It is possible to find the pronoun before the noun ;)

Thanks!!!

in og13 check out #31 and #72; that should provide enough evidence. (i don't have all the pages of that edition right now.)
