Interger

please HELP...

There is are 2 questions as follows on intergers ?

1. If n, p, q and r are consecuative intergers, what is their sum ?

2. If 3x + 10 represents an odd interger, which of the following represents the next largest odd interger ?

a). x + 4
b) 3x + 8
c) 3(x + 4 )
d) 3(x+6 )
e). 4(x +1 )

Can somebody kindly explain please.

This cannot be solved. You will need to know atleast one of the values(viz. n,p,q or r).

In terms of n, the sum can be expressed as n+(n+1)+(n+2)+(n+3) because they are consecutive in nature.
=>4n+6=2(2n+3)

Think of 3x+10 as an odd integer (Let's say 11)
=>3x+10=11. the next larget odd number has to be 13( ie; add 2)
Therefore answer has to be 3x+12=3(x+4)
