I was, am and always will be...

by trentboyce1 Mon Apr 16, 2012 11:04 pm

Hi,

I have read that when looking for parallel errors, you should ensure that verbs are parallel in form.

Is the phrase "I was, am and always will be a peasant" parallel? If so, why?

Thanks so much!

I would like to say that this sentence may not be parallel but this is idiomatic in nature and please do not chcek for parallelism in the Idioms ,,,because idiom consistutes of style which may not be be parallel grammatically.

you should always check for parallelism if you have a parallel marker. in this case the parts of the sentence are parallel; they are all conjugated verbs..
