I did it! One final question...

First and foremost I would like to thank all of the instructors and students who contribute to this forum. I have been studying for the GMAT for roughly 4 months (including the Manhattan GMAT online program I completed about a month ago). It is with great pride that I write to you about my GMAT experience last week. I am happy to report that I achieved a score of 670 last weekend (42 Q 40V). I know this number isn’t a 700, but I put my heart and soul into my preparation, and given that I could only study after a full day of work and on the weekends, I am very pleased with the result . One of the reasons I am so happy about my score is because it is higher than any score I received on my practice tests, both MGMAT and GMAT PREP. The reason main reason I am writing is because I have a question for the moderators: given my current score do you think it would be advantageous for me to given one final push to see if I can break into the 700 territory? In order for me to do so I would need to significantly increase my quantitative score. To achieve this increase I believe I would have to seek out a personal tutor. Before I spend a lot of money on a tutor and hit the books once again I wanted to check in and get a few opinions on my current situation.

In closing, thank you all for everything you have done. I am truly grateful and humbled by my score.

Congrats, juan, you did a fantastic job! (And don't apologize for not hitting a 7xx number - in the grand scheme of things, few people actually need a score that high!) I hope you went out and celebrated after your test. :)

I agree with jeff that a re-take depends upon where you plan to apply. It also depends upon what the rest of your application looks like - undergrad program and GPA, work experience, etc. Go post your question in the Admissions Consulting folder. Give them whatever detail you can on the rest of your app and also let them know where you plan to apply. See what they have to say!
