How to increase reading speed with pure understanding?

by AsadA969 Tue Sep 08, 2015 5:15 am

I've to waste more times to understand the passage of GMAT. So, could you please suggest me how can I increase my reading speed with pure understanding?
Should I follow any journal, which will help me a greater extent to understand the GMAT passage?
Thanks

I like these sources:
http://magazine.uchicago.edu/
http://harvardmagazine.com/
http://sciam.com/

Scientific American can get a bit too casual for the GMAT, but it's worth including if you aren't comfortable with science topics.

If you have a friend who's good at reading comprehension (in general, doesn't have to be for the GMAT), you could ask him/her to read some of the same articles and then you give an oral summary to your friend. See whether you get the main points. If your friend picks up on things that you don't, or you misinterpret something, have your friend show you how s/he read and interpreted that text.

Not much in the real world completely follows GMAT sentence correction writing. :?

In general, you can trust that the sentences are pretty well-constructed. But don't study them the way that you study GMAT sentence correction - almost nobody writes to that level of rigid adherence to the rules!
