How many times I can reset?

by spandey1982 Mon Jul 06, 2009 10:05 am

Hi,

I wanted to know, how many times I can reset my tests? Is there any restrictions such as only two times?

If you are talking about the MGMAT tests, you can re-take as many times as you want. We do, however, reserve the right to suspend access and contact you if we suspect suspicious activity (eg, we've had someone sell access to others and we could tell because people were logging in from IP addresses around the world in timeframes that couldn't possibly have been just 1 person traveling around).

But if it's really just you, you have nothing to worry about. :)

I will, however, caution you for a different reason. Taking a test is a great way to (a) see what your current performance is, and (b) learn about your strengths and weaknesses. But taking a bunch of tests is NOT a great way to improve your score. When Roger Federer plays in the final of a tournament, he's not learning a ton while he's actually playing that match; rather, he's using everything he learned before he got there. Similarly, most of your learning comes from the work you do between tests; the tests themselves are just a way to check your progress. Back to Roger: he can also learn a lot about a particular match by analyzing it afterwards, just as you can learn a lot from a test by analyzing it afterwards. But that's actually after it's all over.

Hi Stacey,

Thanks a lot for your response. I can assure you that this is not a foul play for sure. I am KarmaYogi from BTG forum. I hope, I don’t need to prove my genuineness anymore :). By the way, what an analogy? The Wimbledon final is still fresh in my mind - mind-boggling contest. You are true; he hasn’t started learning in the final, rather he just applied his learning in the final. Your advice is well taken.

Regards,
KY

Oh, yes, I definitely know you from BTG. :)

That was an amazing final, wasn't it? It was really mind-boggling.
