Absolutely! A subordinate clause starts with either a relative pronoun or a subordinate conjunction (common GMAT examples: because, although, since, after, though), has a subject and a verb, yet is not a complete sentence on its own.
Examples:
Although the company had a great quarter, the holiday shopping season is expected to be rough.
Once everyone arrived, we sat down to dinner.
Because bats are nocturnal, they must navigate using sound.
