Hello Stacey !

by mandeepsingh007 Sat Oct 13, 2012 4:53 pm

Hi,
I am Mandeep, i recently gave GMAT and Got a score of 730. I want to thank you people for helping me out in achieving this.

I didn't take up any of your courses. I got copies of MGMAT RC/SC/CR guides from a friend of mine and then bought the essay writing guide just to get access to the CATS. I gave all the guides a full two months, the OG one whole week and the CATs 5 days. I also took up Grockit for two months and used it to practice another 1000 odd questions.
In between when ever i got time i will watch video lessons of MGMAT illuminate Live series which i got from a friend who had earlier purchased that course in 2009. It was taught Ryan and Emily. I regularly read your Blogs and went through GMAT club as well.
A day before my GMAT i gave the GMAT prep twice and ot 730 & 760.
My Final SCORE .. 730.

I want to thank you all, Stacie, Emily and Ryan for helping me out. I just wish i could personally meet you and thank you.
You all seem so passionate to teach, and when i read your blogs and posts it doesn't feel as if you are doing it for money. It all seems so personal .

May God Bless you :)

Regards
Mandeep Singh

Congratulations! And you're welcome - I'm glad we were able to help.

I'm sorry to have to mention this, but I want others reading this to know. When someone purchases access to the class tapes, that access is legally restricted to that person / that person's account. It's fine to share books or any physical materials, but it's not legal to re-sell an online account or to re-activate it for someone else's use. (A 2009 account would have expired by now, so the person who owns the account would have had to re-activate it - and there's an agreement that the person is doing so only for his or her own personal use.)

Anyway, I know you didn't know this, or you wouldn't have told me all this info in your post. :) Like I said, I just want to make sure that others know. Good luck with applications!

Well i kind of didn't know about the legal issue. i will make up for it. Once i get admission i will make up for it.

I got my complete score. i am a little worried about my IR score i scored very bad in it. My AWA is 5.5-77% but im IR score is 4-40% . Should i be worried ? My over all score is 730 an all my other areas are quite good, will a low score in IR be a hindrance?

It's okay - I know you didn't know about the legal issue. If you had known, you wouldn't have told me about it. :) I just want to make sure others know for future.

Are you applying this year? Most schools are not using IR at all this year, so a 4 shouldn't be a problem. Next year, it's possible that some or all schools will start to use IR, but we won't know that until next year (nor will we know how they'll use the scores and what they'll consider a good score - we have to wait until they figure that out).

So, if you're applying this year, don't worry about it at all. If you're applying next year... then wait a little while until we hear more about how the schools are using the scores, but with a 730 and a 5.5, you'll probably still be okay!
