Guess my score?

by millencolin600 Wed Oct 10, 2012 5:09 am

My assestment summary:

PS: 13 Right 9 Wrong avg diff right = 670 avg diff wrong = 690
DS: 9 Right 6 Wrong avg diff right = 660 avg diff wrong = 680

SC: 9 Right 6 Wrong avg diff right = 670 avg diff wrong = 700
CR: 7 Right 7 Wrong avg diff right = 610 avg diff wrong = 650
RC: 5 Right 7 Wrong avg diff right = 670 avg diff wrong = 670

With this data what final score fits better? 600? 640? 680?

Well... My score was 620.

Just looking at the summary I would say something between 650-670.

If my correct answer choice average has been 660 how is it possible to have an score of 620?

The score is not based on percentage correct nor is it based on average difficulty level. The test is scored in a way that is wildly different from anything you've experienced in the past - the data you posted is almost irrelevant to the actual score! (Not entirely, of course - but that data is not how you will arrive at even an approximation of your score.)

If you'd like to learn more about the scoring (and I recommend doing that!), read the Scoring section of our free e-book, The GMAT Uncovered Guide.

Also read this; it doesn't get into details about the scoring, but it does tell you how you have to approach this test VERY differently from any other tests you've taken in the past:
