gmatprep repeating questions

Hi Stacey,

I have just realised that some questions of CR in GMAT prep are modified from OG or the argument repeat with different question. e.g One time it come up with strengthen next time with evaluate the argument. I took the gmatprep twice and this happened for three questions, but spaced by months. I feel like I easily understood the argument because i read it before.

How will this inflate my score? Should I just guess for these types and move on? By the way, should i expect the type of wording in GMAT exam, I do not mean the same question but the same language in CR and RC. I wrote the exam before, i must admit that I came out clueless on what was going on in there, lol.

it is the case that there is some minor overlap between GMATPrep and OG. If you (unfortunately) see a question that you've seen before, do a couple of things to ensure that you don't artificially inflate your score.

First, anytime you see a problem that you remember (and this means: I know the answer or I'm pretty sure I remember the answer, not just "hmm, this looks vaguely familiar..."), immediately look at the timer and make yourself sit there for the full length of time for that question type. This way, you don't artificially give yourself more time than you should have. Second, think about whether you got this problem right the last time. If you did, get it right again this time. If you didn't, get it wrong again. If you *completely honestly* think that you would get it right this time around if it were a new question (even though you got it wrong last time) because you've studied that area and improved, then get it right this time.

On the real test, you won't see anything that repeats wording that closely, no, but you will see questions that use the same kind of logic... if you can notice. :)
