GMAT Strategy - 640 on 1st test - How to score 700+?

by Umaphuyu Tue Sep 04, 2012 8:03 pm

Hello,

I took the gmat last week and I am happy to have scored 640 (44Q,34A) after working my way from a 520 in the practice tests. This was the first time I took the gmat. I know I can continue to improve but I am not sure what the strategy should be to reach a 700+ score.

I have reviewed the basics quite a lot in my preparation in the past and found doing tests and reviewing helped me a lot. Could you please provide a strategy to score a 700+ in the test?
My goal would be to take the gmat in a month as I do want to go on with my life, the last prep took a lot of effort and time... I am willing to give it one last try but would love to hear any advice.

I appreciate your help in advance.

Nice work! That's a great improvement.

640 to 700 in a month would be an ambitious leap. It's possible, but many people would need more time than 1 month, just FYI. For example, if you have timing problems (and almost everyone does), it typically takes about 4-6 weeks to get the timing straightened out.

That (and the second half of that article, linked at the end of the first half) will help you to develop your study plan. Once you've done that, you can come back here to check it with us.

A lot of the resources in that second article are in the first one as well, but I'm including it just to be thorough. :)
