Gmat retake or carry on with the application process

GPA: 2.5 .....yep tragic

So the question is simple :
What are my chances , given my situation, lowGPA and mediocre gmat score , that I could get into any of these schools...provided my essays are decent .

Hi! Thanks for writing in. From what you have provided here, I see that you have a good GMAT score, but it is on the lower edge of some of the schools you are targeting. Your GPA is low, and you might want to consider writing an optional essay to explain to the AdCom why your grades were low (I suggest looking for trends in your grades - did you do poorly your freshman year? Did you change majors? etc.) As you pull together your applications, I suggest looking for ways to highlight leadership potential in both your professional and extra-curricular experiences. Lastly, work hard to ask the right people to write your recommendations, and help them craft strong letters to support your candidacy.

Business schools will look at your experiences holistically - so each and every part matters.

I am flirting with the idea of taking the gmat again in May..hoping to atleast crack the 700 barrier....

Boosting your GMAT score can only help your candidacy because it will show the AdCom that you can handle the academics.
