Sorry to bother you again Ron,

if there is not any difference in the two versions than it in altered version could stand for proportion.
Because in that case we got rid of greater attached to proportion as essential modifier.

Also please help me understand that omited word in OA is proportion?

i have no idea (1) what you are asking here, or (2) what "altered version" means.

please phrase this question in terms of SPECIFICS.
if "altered version" refers to one of the answer choices, then please say which answer choice that is.

there is no "omitted word". you are thinking about this in a way that's fundamentally incorrect.
