On the number line, the distance between x and y is greater than the distance between x and z. Does z lie between x and y on the number line.

1 xyz<0
2 xy<0

1. St 1 is alone suff & not 2
2. St 2 is alone suff & not 1
3. Both 1 & 2 together
4. Each alone is suff.
5. 1& 2 together not sufficient.

Kindly help, how to approach this question.
