GMAT for PhD Application

by cheung0806 Wed Sep 23, 2009 12:45 pm

Hello,
I woudl like to ask whether I have any chance to get in the following schools for PhD in Accounting (or business programme)

Harvard, MIT, University of Stanford, UCLA, Univerity of Michigan, NYU.

My qualification is as follows
Bachelor of Science in Finance, GPA 3.86, Brigham Young University, Utah
Master of Accountancy, GPA 3.85, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Bachelor of Applied Science in Accounting (first hons), Oxford Brookes University, UK
GMAT 660 (Math 43, Eng 38)

Affiliate of Association of Chartered Certified Accoutants, UK (ACCA)
Member of Chartered Management Accountants, US (CMA)
Affiliate of Chartered Financial Analyst, US (CFA)

Award:
Top 20 Affiliate of ACCA,
Hong Kong top achiever in paper of financial reporting (it is award for the highest score I got in Hong Kong in the paper of financial reporting)

One professional publication in Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants

Work experience
2 years-Teaching Assistant + 2 years Assistant Lecturer (Accounting) at
a university in HK
1 year- high school teacher for accounting
8 months-Assistant Accountant
7 months-business advisor

My concern is my GMAT. Can other qualification of mine compensate for the low score? If you dont think that I can get in this school, do you have any suggestions?

Thanks

Steven

You've really supplied thorough info - very nice! Unfortunately, this isn't the best place to ask this question - this area is about the test only, not about admissions.

We have another folder (lower down in the list) called "Ask an Admissions Consultant" - copy your post and paste it into a new post in that folder. Also, a lot of admissions consultants will give free consultations - I know MBA Mission (a really good company) gives free 30-minute consultations.
