GMAT D-Day ...Thanks MGMAT!

by mrollins Sun Oct 18, 2009 12:14 am

First a little background: I decided to start studying for the GMAT at the end July. I knew the basic format and not much else. On the OG12 diagnostic I got about 4 PS questions correct and maybe half of the DS. It was then that i purchased the MGMAT self-prep package. Verbal came easy for me from the outset, but my first full MGMAT practice, which I took in September, came in at 600 after running out of time on the math and cheating with the time on the verbal.

I took a few more practices, both MGMAT and GMAC, and time continued to be an issue. Frankly I was going to be pretty pleased with anything over 650.

Today was D-Day and I still had to guess on the last few quant but...... 710! (41Q 46V). While I can't say I used MGMAT for much of the verbal (except "like v. such as") I never would have made this progress in math, meager as it was, without your help. Though excited as I am...I wonder if I should try to boost that math...funny how we get greedy!

Thanks again!

Congratulations! That's a fantastic score. Good luck on apps - let us know how it goes!

funny how we get greedy!

Isn't that the truth? I guess it's just a universal human trait. :)
