GMAT APPLICATION PROCESS -- CAN I SEND TWO SETS OF SCORES

by jds07d Tue Aug 03, 2010 5:31 pm

I recently finished taking the GMAT for the second time, I received the same score on both tests (630). My quant was significantly higher on the second test, while my verbal was significantly lower. Is there any possible way to send both scores, in an effort to highlight the discrepancy and show that I can also get a pretty high verbal score?

1st test
Q 38
V39

2nd Test
Q45
V33

I was in shock when I saw how low my verbal was for that second test. I'm pretty down because I studied a lot and have never scored lower on a verbal section after taking numerous practice tests. If only I would have gotten those two scores at the same time! Any thoughts on how to market this on my application? Im applying for MSFinance and or/ MA in Management at programs such as Villanova, Johns Hopkins, George Washington, and possibly Duke and Carnegie Mellon.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

As long as both sets of scores are still valid (scores are valid for 5 years), the schools will see both scores. You basically have a GMAT transcript - they see everything on your transcript, just as they do on your university transcript.

You would also probably want to point out yourself somewhere on your app the one high verbal and one high quant. They're still going to put your overall score at 630, but if they're debating you, pointing that out could possibly be a point in your favor.

You don't sound like you plan to take the test again. Just in case, if you do, you may want to try to do the analysis described in this article:
