gerunds and participles

by nimisha.jain12 Thu Jul 21, 2011 3:29 am

hi ron,
i need a help here . sorry the examples i took below are from og but i have a general doubt not specific one in the og question.

i am quite puzzled in the usage of a gerund and a participle. though i understand their literal meaning, also maximum times i m am able to recognize the usage of it in the sentences but clearly i still dont have a grip
can u provide me few examples to differentiate between the two without error

***edited by moderator JNelson****

in the above examples i m confused how to figure out with surity that this is a gerund or participle.

Sorry, I had to remove your examples because OG material is not allowed here. However, here is a thread in which Ron discusses participles vs. gerunds: og-verbal-review-95-t1373.html
