Frequency with which material is tested

by jocelynalt7 Sat Nov 06, 2010 11:59 am

Stacey,

One other question. You mentioned in a response to another post that it can be helpful to "evaluate the frequency with which the particular material in question is tested" when targeting your studying. Can you explain how to determine the frequency with which different subjects are tested, specifically for Quant?

Thanks!

Yes! You ask people who know, like me. :)

I'll base this on the chapter titles of our five quant books. The most common stuff is:

NP: divis & primes, exponents, roots, consec int
EIV (Algebra): basic and exponential eqns, inequalities
FDP: fractions, percents, and questions that combine the two
WT: algebraic translations, statistics, rates & work
Geom: triangles, circles

As a general rule, you want to make sure you master the above more so than some of the material that's less commonly tested.

It also, of course, depends on your score goals. If you want a 750, for example, then you've got to master everything!
