Free GMAT test by MGMAT - Got 520 (Q-47, V-17)

by gnarala Thu Nov 26, 2009 12:57 am

Hello,

I scored 520 in the free test provided by MGMAT. I also took GMATprep last week and scored 530 (Q-43, V-20) in the 1st test and 530 (Q-47, V-17) in the 2nd test. I need advice on improving my score to atleast 650. I am going to take my GMAT exam in a week. I am poor in verbal. Please advise on improving my verbal score.

Thanks,
Guru

Unfortunately, it is extremely uncommon for someone to improve a score by more than 100 points in a week. For most people, that would take a minimum of a month and probably more like 2-4 months. (And a lot of people find that verbal takes longer to improve than quant.)

For the most part, scores don't change much in just one week. If you really want to make sure you can hit your goal, you may need to think about postponing your test.

I don't have advice for you on what to do in just one week. If you postpone your test, I'd be happy to help you figure out what to do to prepare. If so, please let me know how you have prepared so far: what materials (books, online resources, practice tests, classes) you've used, how you've studied, how long you've studied, and so on. Please also let me know a bit more about your strengths and weaknesses on verbal: SC, CR, RC, timing, and so on.
