"Foundations" topics

by michaelbrettgonzalez Mon Jul 22, 2013 12:23 pm

Would you agree that ALL of the CONCEPTS for the GMAT are covered in the two foundation books and that the supplemental books just elaborate and give more complex examples?

If not, can you recommend topics for me to focus on that you do not believe are adequately covered in the foundations books.

Thanks

You are referring to the MGMAT Foundations books, right?

Those books were developed after the main books (the ones that you called the supplemental books - we call those the main Strategy Guides). We developed them because people were struggling with more foundational concepts that the main Guides already assumed they knew.

So the foundations of all topics are in those two Foundations books, yes. But it's not enough just to study those (unless your goal score is in the 500-range). They are intended to be a starting point, no more.

Many people find that they don't need the Foundations books at all. If you're starting with a strong enough base, you'll be fine using just the Main Strategy Guides.
