Exponents

by tm03 Sun May 17, 2009 9:32 pm

If 2^x - 2^x-2=3(2^13) what is the value of x?

a) 9
b) 11
c) 13
d) 15
e) 17

Answer is d)15. It seems easy but I just can not figure out how to solve this one. I am missing something here. I'll appreciate any help.
