I'm sure it's probably not right.. but I simply looked at the values are realizing that if you raise the 2 to anything... it has to be equal to N squared. So the value of 2 works as well as the value of 4. This would yield the answer of C per your table. Other values may exist this was just my immediate response without having a firm way of approaching.
