Effectivenees of the Stuffs labeled "GMAT SETS"

by you4545 Tue Sep 01, 2009 2:57 pm

hello,
Recently i got GMAT sets which includes more than 30 sets of verbal and math sections. are these stuffs helpful for practice? Are these stuffs legitimate because one of my friend said that these are from banned scoretop website? Is there any possibility that my score will be banned for using these GMAT sets?

Your score will not be cancelled if you use these materials. However, I wouldn't recommend using the material. They're free, yes, but they are riddled with errors and poor examples of questions.

There are many perfectly fine questions in the Sets as well, but the problem is: you don't know which ones are good and which ones are bad. So you could very well be wasting your time and/or learning the wrong things on any particular question that you study.

The best source for practice questions: the Official Guide materials. Yes, you have to pay for the questions, but they're not that expensive, and they have a MAJOR advantage over everything else available: they are the real thing. (Official Guide materials are actual, past test questions that have been retired and were published by the makers of the test.)
