DS - What is the sum of 5 evenly spaced integers

by thilakprasathtp Sun Nov 01, 2009 2:33 am

What is the sum of 5 evenly spaced integers in a set?

1. The median of the set of numbers is 0.
2. The range of the numbers in the set is 4.

I believe 1 is sufficient, but the correct answer is given as both 1 & 2 together.

My Reasoning:
0 is the median for evenly spaced numbers
-2, -1, 0, 1, 2
-10, -5, 0, 5, 10

In all the cases the SUM will be always zero.

Can anyone correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks

You are correct Answer should be A, did you get OA as C in your test.
i think you should report it.

Below link has info on what to do if you find an incorrect answer.

Hi,

I'm trying to correct the error, but I'm having trouble locating the question in our pool. Is this one of our questions? If it is, can you please tell me the name of the question?

Thank you

I also can't find this one in our CAT database, so I don't know whether this is from some other MGMAT source or whether this was just posted in the wrong folder entirely.

If anyone else runs across this one *from an MGMAT source*, please let us know exactly where.
