DS - If the drama club and music club are combined

by gal_gitter Tue Sep 01, 2009 11:55 am

If the drama club and music club are combined, what percent of the combined membership will be male?
1) of the 16 members of the drama club, 15 are male.
2) of the 20 members of the music club, 10 are male.

I don't understand why the answer isn't c... (its e)

Is it a GMAT Prep Question? or some where from GMAC?
Doesnt look like becuase of its ambiguity.

The only way answer will be E is if there are common members in both the clubs which is not given. Otherwise its as simple as 25 divided by 36.

its a high level gmat prep question.
well, i guess your right and the answer is c because of possible common members.
The most tricky gmat question i have ever seen..

it may not be true that this problem is "high-level", as it doesn't require any complicated or extensive analysis.
difficulty is irrelevant, though; just LEARN THE THINGS THAT TRICK YOU so that you aren't fooled by them again!
