Q) The grid in the picture shows three entries indicated by x, y and z in an additional table. What is the value of x + y + z?
(1) Q + C = 8
(2) B + P = 2(R + C)= 4

OA- C (BOTH statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are sufficient to answer the question asked, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient to answer the question asked.)

hi,

unfortunately, you can't format a table like that in these forums; the forum software will compress the empty spaces, thereby distorting the entries in the table.

is this problem actually from the OFFICIAL GMAT PREP SOFTWARE?

* if so, please post a screenshot of the table from the original problem. you can either (a) embed the picture in another post or (b) upload it to an image hosting site such as postimage.org and then post a direct link here.

* if not, then we will have to delete this thread. please re-post the problem in the general math folder, along with a citation of the source from which it comes.
