Hi,
GMAT Club is another forum. We need the original source of the problem.

Thanks.

Sorry Ron, I am not sure about the original source. As part of GMAT preparation, I am trying to utilize online resources. Apart from that I do not know the source. It wasn't mentioned in the original post either. Since I extracted the question from that forum I listed the source. If you can explain me how to find the real source I am willing to do that. Thank you.

If you don't know the source, don't use the problem.

For your own good -- the vast majority of third-party GMAT material is of extremely poor quality.

With the OG, OG supplement, and GMAT Prep archives, in addition to our practice tests, your hands should be full enough already. If you think you need more material beyond all that, then you're almost certainly spending way too much time just doing problems, and not nearly enough time learning from them.

thanks, but that was just a link to another forum thread. (also i'm a bit confused as to why you posted it—the issue was that the problem didn't have a source, and that thread doesn't cite the source either.)

in any case, if you're referring to the old GMAT paper tests... those are very outdated. in both SC and CR, the priorities of the test have changed so much that, if you use the paper tests, you're essentially preparing for the wrong test.

in any case... do you have a question about the problem?
i'm guessing that you do. (it seems unlikely that you would resurrect a discussion that's been idle for almost 2 years—and in which you have no plan to participate—just to point out a possible source.)

...but, if you do have a question, i can't tell what it is.

please clarify. thanks.

For questions along the lines of 'can you walk me through this answer choice', we'd rather you stick to questions where you can name the source (and that you can be sure aren't from a low-quality or banned source.) That said, maybe you've seen similar types of reasoning elsewhere, in official questions. If you haven't, that's a red flag that this isn't a useful question to study! Or maybe you could ask something about the general type of reasoning used in this problem, or whether it's likely to appear on the test.

And if you aren't sure, it can't hurt to ask. :)

Yes, I have a doubt with a specific choice. But, I think I cannot ask it because this question appears to have come from a GMAT Paper Based Test. I'd rather ask the Instructors to lock this.
