CR Some generalisation

by ChaosaurusM730 Fri Aug 22, 2014 4:47 am

Hi instructors.

I was going though all the official questions and trying to make some generalisation here. However, I found a bit of contradiction in the reasonings of OG and I hope you guys can help me with this one. (I paraphrased the OG material herein)

Q117 OG13th in C which is not the correct answer states other competitors have not considered buying the skybus. The reasoning in OG suggests that this piece of info is irrelevant.

This is also what I hold true before I went through the reasoning for Q 71in OG 13th ed.

in C for Q71: the usage of EFCO is on the rise for lots of other businesses. OG suggests this is actually strengthening the proposal to adopt EFCO because other businesses must have seen the advantages of adopting EFCO.

so my question is when considering a plan, does what 'others' do affect the proposal/business plans in question? Does it Strengthen, weaken, or simply irrelevant?

Hope someone can shed light on this one for me.

Cheers,

Chao

Making "rules" or "formulas" for CR is impossible. Don't waste your time.

There's a name for this effort. It's called "strong artificial intelligence". Lots of very, very smart——and rich——people have dedicated their lives to it.
And, no one has come even close.
No one.

In other words, the name "critical reasoning" is not a lie. You're going to have to think ... well ... critically about the particulars of each situation.
