Copyright policies/ MGMAT forum

by yannickdago Wed Nov 20, 2013 10:25 am

Hi Stacey,

I have 3 questions on the GMAT copyright policies and the use of MGMAT forum :
1) Copyright policies prevent us from posting anything related to official GMAT questions. As the Quant/ Verbal Review OG questions are not debriefed by MGMAT, what would you suggest to students that remain "unhappy" with answers from these OG materials.?
2) MGMAT provides additional CATs by 800score.com. Are we allowed to post in the forum questions related to these CATs ?
3)Is it possible to attach a Word document while posting a question in the forum (that would be useful for geometry problems...) ?

Thanks for the feedback !

Plenty of forums do post and discuss OG problems (even though it's against the copyright laws), so you could go to look for those problems on other forums. I like Beat the GMAT and GMAT Club (and we have teachers answering questions on both of those forums). Even if one of our teachers hasn't answered the problem, there are lots teachers from other companies participating on those forums.

If you are in one of our classes, you can also ask your teacher before or after class. Because that time is limited, I'd recommend searching first and then bringing to class those questions for which you can't find a satisfactory solution elsewhere.

You can post questions from 800Score on our forums, yes. They would go in the General Math or General Verbal folders. (As always, please cite the source - in this case, 800Score.)

We accept Word docs or image files, yes, but only in limited circumstances (such as the one you describe). The file would have to contain ONLY the image, not the problem text - anything that can go into the body of the post needs to be posted there (to make it easy for us all to view and discuss the problem text).

When you're posting, just below the submit button, there is an area where you can upload an attachmet. The easiest format is typically an image file - just take a screen shot of the diagram and then upload.
