Concentrating on early questions

by tuichats Mon Jun 13, 2011 12:19 pm

Please I need serious clarification on this:
Some school of thought say that you have to concentrate on doing well on the early questions ,that this will determine how well you would do in the exam since it is a computer adaptive test.(if yes, how many questions do I group as first(first 10 or first 8 or first 1/3rd or first 12))???

Others say that all questions are important that the early questions do not really matter.

Please can someone help me out !
Thanks.

Myth. Myth. Myth. Bad myth. :)

Do NOT spend more time on earlier questions. They are important. So are the ones in the middle, and so are the ones at the end. The earlier questions are not more important. (Well, they're more important ONLY in the sense that, if you can get them all right WITHOUT getting a bunch of questions wrong at the end, then your score will be higher... except that assumes that you do NOT actually spend extra time on them. If you can already get them all right without spending extra time, then you don't need to worry about this!)

If you want to know more about why this is a big myth, read the Scoring section of our free e-book The GMAT Uncovered. (If you have an account with us, even just a free account, the e-book is already available to you in your account.)
