I recalled that the "comma verb-ing clause" showed either how the action of the main clause happened or result of the main clause.
In OG 13 - Diag - SC #49, the correct answer used the comma + verb-ing clause. In this case, the verb-ing clause clearly cannot be the result of the main clause, so it must be used to show how the action of the main clause happened. Am I right, even though the verb of the main clause is "be"?
