"comma verb-ing clause"

by MichaelZ337 Fri Apr 24, 2015 10:28 am

Hi Ron

I recalled that the "comma verb-ing clause" showed either how the action of the main clause happened or result of the main clause.

In OG 13 - Diag - SC #49, the correct answer used the comma + verb-ing clause. In this case, the verb-ing clause clearly cannot be the result of the main clause, so it must be used to show how the action of the main clause happened. Am I right, even though the verb of the main clause is "be"?

liThank you!

DO NOT double-post (or triple-post-- you've actually posted this same question in 3 different threads).
this won't get us to answer the question any faster (since we go strictly in order from oldest to newest).

thank you.
