Clear Referent: please post the source for thi

- Please post the source for this question; if you don't, then we can't answer it (per the forum rules), and will eventually have to delete it.

In the above sentence, does "it" refer to the "Question" or "source".
In cases when, a sentence follows a Semi-colon, Can some pronouns refer to subjects in the pervious part of the sentence?
Please clarify.

Ha. I love that you are picking apart our forum rules sentence. Well, by meaning the word "it" refers to the question, not the source. However, you should probably spend your time analyzing GMAT sentences, rather than sentences we write casually here.

As to the second part of your question, yes, a pronoun in the second portion can refer back to something before the semicolon.
