draw a circle, and draw a triangle. do they intersect? if so, at how many points? for what it's worth, the correct answer is not here, so i know the problem has not been transcribed correctly from a GMAT Prep test. can you give us a screenshot so we can see what the question and answers really looked like?

This is actually the correct formulation of the question and the GMAT Prep provide "1,2,3,4,5 & 6" as the correct answer. Therefore, I understand that when a vertices of the triangle touch the circle it is interpreted as intersecting. Otherwise, I don't understand.

"intersect(ion)" means "points that are in both figures". so, yes, these would be points of intersection.

but now i'm confused—how else would 'intersection' be defined?
