I've been studying the Manhattan GMAT SC book.
I have a question regarding explanation in the book.

On the page 64 in 5th edition, no.15 says that
HAVE not BEEN CORROBORATED by other scientists or PUBLISHED in a prestigious

Why not HAVE BEEN not CORROBORATED or PUBLISHED

claims cannot publish by themselves. Thay ARE published.
So I think that "or published" in the book doesn't make sense.

what you propose is just not the way the "not" is used in the English language. think to your own experience - have you ever seen "not" used correctly in the way you suggest? i think part of the confusion with this one probably has to do with the fact that "not" really shouldn't be circled as a parallel marker..
