Master of Science in Information Science Technology with a Graduate Certificate in
Business Analytics & Data Science
Founded in 1870, Missouri University of Science Technology has evolved into a world-class technological research university, producing some of the top STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) graduates in the world.
We are now offering the opportunity for students to earn a Graduate Certificate in the field of Big Data as part of a Master's degree in Information Science Technology. The master degree requires 30 credit hours, or 10 courses.
Big Data is an emerging phenomenon. Computing systems today are generating 15 petabytes of new information everyday and about 80% of the data generated every day is textual and unstructured data. Data analytics facilitates realization of objectives by identifying trends, creating predictive models for forecasting and optimizing business processes for enhanced performance.
For this program, students will take four MS-IST core courses, and can apply four of their six elective courses to earn a Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics Data Science.
