Breakup of the number of questions in Verbal Section

by avishal Fri Jan 30, 2009 8:01 am

Hello,

I am curious to know the general breakup of the number of questions in the verbal section under CR, SC and RC sub-sections. Logically, the numbers should be split roughly equally - i.e. 14, 14, 13. However, this could surely vary I guess. Is there any sort of range that one can expect for particular question types? Say, there are typically at least 12 questions and at most 16 questions of each type? Also, does the # of questions for a particular type (say RC) increase if the test-taker is doing well?

I understand that GMAC would probably never comment on this, I just wanted to know if the Manhattan team has discovered any such pattern?

Regards,
Vishal

You'll see roughly an equal number of each type of question, though you might see one or two more SC questions than other questions. Also, at the very highest level of scoring, you might even see one or two SC questions more than that.
